PickMarin.org
PickMarin is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger and poor nutrition in Marin County. Through partnerships with schools and individual gardeners, PickMarin harvests local fruit and vegetables and delivers the fresh produce to county-wide food banks. Our goal is simple: increase the amount of fresh produce for the hungry, while promoting the importance of nutrition and locally-grown food

When should your fruit be ripe?
Donate directly to the Food BankThe Marin food bank and many other charities are happy to accept fruit donations directly from homeowners with a surplus. Call ahead to confirm a time, pick into boxes or brown grocery bags then drop your donation off. It's easy, great experience for kids and it makes a difference in our community. Give it a try!
_____________________________________________________________ Kent Fruit Drive a HUGE Success
The students of Kent Middle School have completed the first PickMarin event harvesting oranges, lemons, and grapefruit from neighborhood backyards. Over three days they collected an amazing 667 lbs and delivered the produce to the Marin Food Bank. Join our Blog
Welcome! We have set up PickMarin to connect two simple facts in our community: hunger and abundance. There are thousands of residents, including children, in Marin County who go hungry every day. At the same time however, there are literally tons of fruit in our backyards that never gets picked . I hope our community can come together and build the "green solution to hunger". Let's start by picking fruit in our backyards and then see where we can go from there. This is a group effort that will make a difference. Let us know about your tree , write comments and suggestions on our blog, or subscribe to our news letter for updates and harvest schedules.
